COURSES

CAVAN SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY

Founder / Director: Jean Mackarel

B.A., (NUU) / B.D., (QUB) / M.Div., (TTS) / D.Min., (TTS) / PhD. (TTS, Indiana)

CST was set up with the following people very much in mind:

1. Employed Adults of all ages, 18+

2. Unemployed or student Adults of all ages 18+, and

3. Senior Citizens and Retired with time on hand, plus part-time workers.

Ages attending range from 18+ through middle years to senior years, who appreciate the chance to study the Bible

and Church History, and to gain a clearer understanding of the ideologies and ideas influencing our present times.

CST Tuition is entirely FREE.

CST was set up with midland Ireland and border counties in mind,

where it often proves difficult to access third level studies in Theology

and Church History, without having to travel long distances to the cities,

or give up employment, or bear the heavy costs of third level education.

CST is a facility greatly appreciated also by those who always longed to study

the Theology of the Bible in depth and to gain a clearer grasp of Church History,

but were unable to access such studies at a level that is challenging and enjoyable,

in a stress-free, exam-free environment and friendly supportive setting.

CST does NOT aim whatsoever to take

students away from their churches.

Instead,

CST encourages students to live out their

new learning at CST in their own home and family,

and in their own church community and workplace.

Indeed CST would encourage each Presbytery

or even each church group under one minister,

to establish a School of Theology in its area,

or Adult Catechetical School / Adult Sunday School.

It's essential for the minister as well as the people.

CST teaching principles are also practiced in simpler

form in Children's Clubs, giving juniors the joy of

new learning and getting to know what's in the Bible.

NOTE:

CST also offers courses beyond its own campus,

by invitations from any group

[community / school, Caring professions, Ladies and Gents Fellowship],

giving a wider audience the chance to really enjoy

new learning in essential Truth for Life, and build friendships

Courses may run for varying durations:

e.g., one morning or evening per week or month, or per season or year,

in suitably equipped venues with safety, comfort, heat and light.

One Golden Rule for all attending CST

Students come to gain refreshing new learning and to ask questions,

not to use the forum as a platform to teach their own pet subject or worldview,

nor to impose their endless personal life-stories on the class or tutor!

For the care of all students, clear boundaries are in place, to be respected.

CST offers Studies entirely FREE of charge.
